On September 25, 26 and 27, 2026, Tekwill in Chișinău will once again become the epicenter of tech innovation in Moldova. Deeptech GigaHack – the largest deeptech hackathon in the Republic of Moldova – reaches its fourth edition, bringing new challenges, new partners and a development that opens the event to participants from anywhere in the world.
Organized by Technovator, GigaHack brings together hundreds of developers, designers, researchers, students and entrepreneurs each year who work intensively for 48 hours to build prototype solutions to real problems proposed by companies and institutions. In 2026, the event puts three of the most relevant domains of today’s technology on stage: artificial intelligence, digital health and energy.
Every GigaHack edition is defined by the quality of its challenges – and 2026 is no exception.
Orange Systems brings an AI challenge based on a real problem from their day-to-day operations. The company is looking for creative, practical and business-oriented solutions – and has committed to continuing the collaboration with the winning team after the event, to develop the solution into a real product.
Medpark International Hospital, the most digitalized hospital in the region and holder of Level 6 on the HIMSS scale, comes with a HealthTech challenge. Medpark is not looking for technology for its own sake – they are looking for solutions built by people who understand that behind every feature there is a patient and a doctor. The most relevant prototypes will be considered for integration into the hospital’s digital ecosystem.

Deeptech GigaHack 2026 is organized by Technovator, with the support of the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF), EU4Innovation East, a regional project funded by the European Union, co-financed by the Government of France and implemented by Expertise France, and the Innovate Moldova Program, funded by Sweden and the United Kingdom.
The 2026 edition brings a significant new development – for the first time in the event’s history, participants from anywhere in the world can take part in GigaHack online. The decision comes as a direct response to the community’s demand, particularly from the Moldovan diaspora who wanted to be part of the experience without having to travel to Chișinău.
Same challenge, same teams, same 48 hours – from wherever participants may be. Physical attendance at Tekwill remains just as welcome and just as valuable.
The fourth edition also introduces a new brand element: the fox – the symbol of GigaHack 2026, reflecting the agility, curiosity and innovative spirit of the community built around the event across its four editions.
