Technovator is among the six organizations from the Republic of Moldova selected for funding under the regional EU4Innovation East project. The grant will support the implementation of the “Moldova Deep Innovation Pathway” project, an initiative dedicated to developing DeepTech solutions and creating a clearer route from idea and prototype to development and access to new growth opportunities.
The grant certificates were awarded on September 10, 2026, in Chișinău, during the event “Strengthening the Startup Support Ecosystem in Moldova through EU Funding.”
In total, six organizations from the Republic of Moldova were selected following a competitive process in which 63 proposals were evaluated. The cumulative value of the grants exceeds 1 million euros, and the funded programs will support startups and entrepreneurs at various stages of development.
A new pathway for DeepTech projects in Moldova
Through the “Moldova Deep Innovation Pathway” project, Technovator will continue to develop the support infrastructure for projects and startups based on advanced technologies.
The initiative will connect several development stages, including the 2026 edition of Deeptech GigaHack, the awarding of micro-grants, and a pre-acceleration program in Bucharest.
The goal is for teams to be able to move beyond the idea or prototype stage, validate their solutions, and access new development opportunities.
Deeptech GigaHack, which will take place between September 25-27, 2026, at Tekwill in Chișinău, is one of the mechanisms through which Technovator connects researchers, developers, entrepreneurs, and companies around real technological challenges. Integrating the hackathon into a broader pathway aims to provide continuity for promising projects even after the event ends.
From idea to scalable solutions
The new project continues Technovator’s direction of connecting research, technology, entrepreneurship, and the business environment, as well as creating mechanisms through which technological ideas can get closer to the market.
In recent years, Technovator has developed initiatives dedicated to various stages of the innovation and DeepTech ecosystem in the Republic of Moldova, including Deeptech GigaHack, Deeptech Incubator, Deeptech Academy, Deeptech Mentorship Program, Deeptech Training of Trainers, Science Café, and InnoDays. These create contexts for idea development and validation, mentorship, collaboration, technology transfer, and linking research with the entrepreneurial and business communities.
The new funding will allow the continuation and expansion of this trajectory, focusing on concrete opportunities for teams developing technologies with application and scaling potential.
The grant award ceremony gathered representatives of public authorities, diplomatic missions, international partners, and the entrepreneurial community of the Republic of Moldova.
